MOKAUITI.

Own Correspondent.

On Thursday, March 20th, the ordinary routine of school work was thrown aside and games, races and various other competitions took its place. Every competition was keenly contested, sepecialiy in the boys' high jump, in which Horace Coombridge and Patrick Goulding secured respectively first and second places. In the skipping events, won by Gladys Morgan and Ida Brake, a well-fought fight was put un. The arrival of the prizes which had been'delayed through accident, was a welcome sight. As the packer bearing them came into view about two o'clock in the afternoon excitement ran very high amongst the children, and they joined most heartily in thanking the packer for so generously bringing the prizes m free of chaige. Excitement increased when willing hands distributed tne prizes. Besides the prizes for the picnic there were distributed eight special prizes as follow: Conduct, Gladys Morgan and Cecil Kirk; most industrious boy and girl, Una Clark and Cecil Kirk; highest marks for 1912. Ada Lorgden and Allan Kirk; neatest books, Giadys Morgan and Patrick , Goulding. At about halfpast four the children's part of the day came to an end, the grown-ups finished their day's outing by holding a most enjoyable dance.
