OBITUARY.

MR JEREMIAH DOWLING. With regret we iearn of the death of Mr. Jeremiah Dowling, of Mangaohae Mr Dowling had been ailing for some time and has recently been treated at Te Aroha, where his death took place on Wednesday last. Mr Dowling was a brother of Mr W. Dowling and brother-in-law of Mr Were, of Mangaohae, and was one of the first settlers to take up land in the district, where he has resided until the time of his illness. The deceased had earned the respect of all who knew him, and his death will be deeply felt throughout the district. The funeral takes place at Taradale, Stratford, to-day.
