MAROKOPA.
Own Correspondent,
The Public Works Department are carrying out a considerable amount of work this season. A large number of concrete and earthenware pipes have been distributed for culverting purposes along the various roads. That portion of the Kawhia-Mahoenui road through the Tawarau gorge, between Mangaohae and Te Anga is receiving a considerable amount of attention this season. It is not before its time, and the department is to be commended for the energy displayed in pushing along this important section of road. The Marokopa Valley road, and the Kiritehere road are also having a good amount of work done, the metalling being carried out on the latter will undoubtedly be of great assistance for dairying next season.
