OBITUARY.

Mr George James Lawlor died at Waihi on Tuesday night as the result of a seizure, following upon a long period of indifferent health. Deceased, who was 61 years of age was an old resident of Thames and Upper Thames goldfields. He was the second son of the late Mr H. C. T. Lawlor known in the early days as a goldfields magistrate and warden. Deceased was a native of Onehunga and one of the pioneers of Thames having arrived in 1867. He held the position of mine manager and about thirty years ago accepted the post of district agent of the A.M.P. Society. Deceased attended the Miners 'Union sports on Monday last. He leaves a widow and four daughters, three of whom are married. Mr Lawlor was the father of Mrs N. B. Lusk, uf Te Kuiti, and was well known and highly respected in this district.
