Mr and Mrs Little arrived in To Kuiti by the express on Friday night. It is ten days since they loft Wellington, and in that, time Mr Little addressed ten meetings on the Bible in State Schools. At the last meeting of the Ohura County Council it was decided not to support the movement promoted by the Taumurunui residents for tho setting up of a new hospital district, the opinion being expressed that the time was not ripe for a severance from the Waikato hospital district. A cable from London states that complaints are made of tho poor condition of recent shipments of butter and cheese from certain Now Zoaland factories. Exports declare that the quality is duo to uncleanliness. The conference in connection with tho engineers' dispute with the Union S.S. Company was held on Thursday at the office of the Prime Minister, who presided. A satisfactory agreement was arrived at, tho company conceding the engineers Australian wages, overtime, and all privileges. Attention is drwan to the notification anpearing in another column to the effect that a telephone bureau has been established at the Keigate refreshment rooniß on tho AwaUino road, about eight miles from Te Kuiti. This should be a groat convenience to travellers as has been the case in connection with ths refreshment rooms.

When thn exploring party were in the vicinity of tho Mangapu caves on Monday, Mr Lambie tried tho stream near tho oiltrance to tho caves. ]n a short, time he had caught about twenty trout. The fish were rather small and wore all returned to tho stream, but sullicient was seen to indicate that in a year or two tho Mangapu will bo a famous angling resort. Boles, who was on horseback galloped to the head of the leader, grabbed the reins and turned the team along the Waiteti road, where the waggon was eventually stopped without much damage being done.
