OTOROHANGA.
CHAMBER OP COMMERCE. Own Correspondent. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Otorohanga Chamber of Commerce was held in Mr Willis' office on Monday evening. There was a fair attendance. Mr R. McDonald, land agent, was proposed as a member. In reply to a request to have a well sunk at one end of Maniapoto street, the Town Board stated that they will have it attended to when they have funds available.
Messrs Willis and Whyte reported having waited upon the Kio Kio branch of the Farmers' Union. Aa a result two party wires are y o be connected with the Otorthanga office. The proposal to form a new county to embrace the northern portion of the Waitomo county, and a porton of the inoperative county, evoked considerable discussion, and eventually was left to a committee to confer with other bodies and to collect data.
The Government orchard expert ia to be requested to visit Otorohanga and address a public meeting upon fruitgrowing, and the suitability of this district for orchardicy.
