AMUSEMENTS.

EMPRESS The programme of the Empress pictures for this evening is a strong one, and includes some very excellent films. The chief attraction is b'lled as "The God of the Sun," by the Kismet Company. This is a Brnman story full of sensational and thrilling incidents. "The Miracle" is a Vitagraph drama. It is a story of ancient England. A child born to Rashid, the Caliph and his wife, does shortly after its birth, and Abbasah the wife loses her reason. Th 9 best of physicians are consulted in vain. Mousali, a poor woman with her babe, is almost starving, and hppens to pass the way where Abasah is weeping over her lost one. When the latter's back is turned Mousali places her babe in place of the lifeless one, and later Abbasah thanks the Deity for restoring life to her child. Mousali is found wandering round the Caliph's ground with the dead child, but after telling the guards her story they see the wisdom of keeping silent and after burying the dead baby, take her to the Caliph and his wife, saying that they have found a good nurse for the infant. Mousali takes her child to her bosom, .happy near it, and to see that its future is provided for. A host of other films will be screened.
