The autographed manuscript of a message delivered by Sir George Grey to the citizens of Auckland twentytwo years ago, is at present in the possession of Professor Archibald, who was present when the pro-Consul read the message into a phonograph at Mr Hanna's studio. Professor Archibald was afterwards appointed to a chair at Calcutta University, and is now on a visit to Rotorua whence he has written intimating his inention to offer this historical document to the city of Auckland. Mr C. J. Parr, Mayor, expressed the opinion that the document was a very valuable one, and that room would certainly be found for Sir George Grey's last message to the people of the city he loved so well, and Which ha had so munificently endowed.
