RANGITOTO.
Own Correspondent,
A most enjoyable picnic was held by the Taharoa-Rangitoto settlers in a paddock kindly lent by Mr Graham Anderson, to celebrate the opening of the new school. Various games were indulged in and an excellent luncheon vyas provided. Special credit is due to Mr Turich, who organised the picnic.
After luenheon a meeting was held to form a committee. Mr H. J. Thomas was appointed - to the chair. The Eevs. Armstrong and Gosnell were present and have arranged to hold aervcies in the school tent once a month. This district should prove a valuable asset to Te Kuiti, but at present the settlers are greatly handicapped by the old, old cry, "no roada,"" and it ia to be hoped that the Government will do something in the matter.
