PIO PIO.
Own Correspondent. The stuck sale held tsese last week was somewhat disappointing, there being a very small yarding, and the bidding was by no means brisk. However, the recent rains will no doubt improve things for the farmers. A cricket match, played here on January 29th, between the town team and a team frum the Wairere district, proved a great draw, between sixty and seventy people turning out to barrack for their fancy. The match proved very disastrous for the town team, and the visitors had the advantage throughput, winning by an innings and thirty run 3. The ladies provided a very nice lunch, and a most epjoyabe day was spent. I hear some talk of the metalling going ahead on our main road, which there ia perhaps some truth in, as the weather will, no doubt, soon break up to stop it, and what would the authorities do should we get a fine winter, 1 wonder?
