The Tasmanian loan ia quoted at a quarter per cent, discount, The Daily Chronicle expresses surprise at this result of so attractive an issue, and says it has greatly modified its views regarding the proßpectß of loans in the near future. The Daily Mail says the failure of the Tasmanian loan ia evidence that the public nowadays will be satisfied with nothing below 5 per cent. Nine colonial loans have been floated since November, and only two were fully subscribed. Both were offered at 6 per cant. '' ,
