DISSATISFIED SLAUGHTERMEN.

Nonci to Strike.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—rRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, This Day.

There will probably be a strike of slaughtermen throughout New .Zealand shortly. The men employed at Petone and Ngahauraiiga have given the companies fourteen days' ...notice of their intention to cease work. This is the first step in connection with a movement which will likely' involve all the freezing works in the Dominion. The men are claiming an increase of 5s per hundred for sheep, and 6d per head for cattle.

The farmers state that they with their sons will man the boards in case trouble occurs.■..■*?;-.'■;'
