METEOROLOGICAL RETURNS.
The rainfall for December, 1912, at Te Kuiti, as indicated by figures j supplied by Mr T. E. Foy, was ex- i tremely small, a total of 1.59 inches only having fallen on six days. In 1910 the total was 4.52 inches spread over fifteen days, while 1911. showed a record at 7.06 on twenty-one days. The following figures show the monthly rainfall for the past three years:— January, 1910, 13 days, 4 inches; 1911, 6 days. .98 inches; 1912, 12 days, 4.17 inches. February, 11, 4.71; 4, 1.85; 12, 2.52. March, 10, 3 41; 2, 2.15; 16, 4.28. April, 8, 1.45; 16, 6.58; 19. 6.89. May, 13, 3.69; 12, 5.04: 12. 4 44. June, 16, 5.68; 13, 5.02; 19, 8.81. July, 19, 7.40; 11, 4.70; 13, 7.37. August, 17, 7.27; 13, 4.13; 11, 4.28. September, 14, 2,95; 12. 3.70: 26, 10.07. October, 12, 5.78; 17, 6.35; 19, 4.08. November, 13. 4.37; 23. 7.26; 1, 5.93. December. 15. 4.52; 21, 7.06; 6. 1 59. Totals, 1910, 161 days. 55.22 inches; 1911, 150 days, 53.02 inches; 181 dayß, 64.43 inches.
