THE FORTHCOMING CONFERENCE. When the initial conference of tbe Backblocks' Local BedlM' Aesoclatloo mi held at fa Koltl, it wm decided that a conference of all thai affiliated . bod iei should b» t»kl durinf tb» present month/ and that remits for dlscuaiion ihoold be prepared in tba meantime. The place of meeting waa fixed at Ohura, but aa the Ohota county decided not to join the aaaocia- * tion eteps were taken to arraag a i ««l another place of meating. However, *>-* the Ohura County baa now joined the association and the conference iito be held aa originally arranged. The date of meeting ie to be the *9th of this month the following day being the Ohura ahow day. A conaideaabla number of remita have already been received by the secretary, Mr P., Mora, and it is anticipated that all the chief questions affecting baekbloek local bodies will be dealt with.
