monthly meeting. The monthly meeting of the- Taranaki Land Board was held on Tuesday of last week, here were present—The Commissioner of Grown Lauds (Mr G. H. Bullard) in the chair, and Messrs J. Heslop and J. Rattenbury. Mr C. J. Ryan was not present. It was decided to offer part section I, block 3, Totoro, for selection under part 3, of "The Land Act, 1908," at £2 per acre. The proposal to amend the boundieq ofa piece of land in section 20, block 15, Aria, granted to G. R. Mossman at'the October meeting, was approved subject to a revaluation of the area. The application by J. E. Gemmell for a area of 620 acres on O.R.P. in Rangitoto-Tuhua 60C, No. 1, without competition, was decline, as the board could not see its way to grant the land without competition while there were so many people unsuccessful in the ballots

The application for section 24. block 11, Mapara, drawn in ballot on 20th November, 1912, by Annie Shivnan, was approved It was decided to cancel the interest of J. Watson in section 6, block 1, Tanigtu, and tore offer the land under part 3 of "The Land Act, 1908

It was decided to cancel the interest of J, Maher in section 3, block 15, Ohura, as frotr. December 7th., 1912, and steps will be taken to re-offer the land,

The issue of leases and licenses as follows, subject to the usual conditions, was approved:—Section 6, block 11, Mapara, to P. Baer; section 17, block 12, Mapara, to C. P. Tulloch; section 9, block 1, Tangitu, to J. H. Brown; section 2, block 12, Mapara, to J. G. Small; section 1, block 7, Mapara, to E. Miller; section 5, block 22, Tangitu, to W. P. Carrington; section 3, block 1, Tangitu, to C. F. Messenger; section 23, block 4, Totoro, to G. Laurenson; and section 5. block 15, Aria, to W. Heath. The application by Messrs Law for the freehold of section, 69. block 2, Mahoe, was granted. It was resolved to consent to an alteration in the area of section 10, block 6, Ngatimaru, due to exclusion of land taken for a road. A schedule of proposals for expenditure of thirds submitted for approval subject to being found in order was passed as follows: Waitara Road Board £39 Is 3d, Motoroa Road Board £1 3s lOd. Hawera County Coucnil £55 18s lid.

It' was decided to confirm the resolution passed at last meeting in regard to subdivision and transfer of part of the land included in E.R. lease 173. held by A. H. T. Jones. A schedule of reports made by Ranger Tolrne showed that he had inspected 21 holdings, on which improvements to the value of £2706 were required and found improvements effected to the value of £8725. All the selectors had fulfilled their conditions except one, and he was only £5 short in improvements. —lt was resolved to accept the report as satisfactory.
