HOLIDAY TRAVELLING.

RAILWAY ARRANGEMENTS

To-day the holiday railway timetable comes into operation, and passenger services will be greatly augmented. There will be three Mam Trunk express trains leaving Auckland each day, the times of departure being 11 55 a.m., 9.10 p.m., and 10 p.m. In addition there will be separate express trains leaving daily for Rotorua, Thames, and Taumarunui. An express train for passengers to Taumarunui and intermediate stations will leave Auckland each week day at 10.18 a.m., arriving ac its terminal destination at 6.52 p.m. The northward express will leave Taumarunui at 7.30 a.m., arriving in the city at 4 p.m. On Christmas Eve a special train will leave Taumarunui for Auckland at 10.20 p.m.. and arrive at Auckland at 6.40 a.m. next day. There will be a connection at Frankton between this train and a special train for Rotorua. On Thursday, January 2nd, a special train will leave Auckland for Taumarunui at 10.35 p.m., connecting at Frankfcon with the 5 a.m. express to Rotorua on Friday, and arriving at Taumarunui at 6.55 a.m.

The Roturua service will comprise the usual express leaving Auckland at 10 a.m.„and completing its journey at 5.50 p.m., and the return train leaving Rotorua at 9.30 a.m. and arriving at Auckland at 5 p.m. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, the express which leaves Wellington at 12.35 p.m. will eonnect at Frankton with a train for Rotorua, leaving at 5 a.m. and arriving in Rotorua at 9.15 a.m., and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday a train will leave Rotorua at 9 p.m., reaching Frankton at 12.55 a.m., and connecting with the express to Wellington which leaves the city at 10 p.m. There will be additional trains to Rotorua on Christmas Eve. A special daylight expess will leave the city at 14. a.m., reaching Rotorua at 6.55 p.m.. and that evening a night train will leave Auckland at 10.40 p.m., reaching its destination at,6.50 a.m. on Christmas Day. The return train will leave Rotorua on Boxing Day at 9 p.m., reaching Auckland at 5 o'clock next morning.

An express for Thames and'Waihi will leave the city each day at 11 a.m. '■ ■ - ' ■ ■—-
