DOMINION'S POSITION IMPROVED. The Hon. James Allen, interviewed before his departure for London, on Friday, said the bad months of the financial year were now over. December was usually the best revenue month of the year, and, with a fortunate season, the remaining four months will give a larger revenue than the corresponding period of last year. The Post Office Savings Bank funds were now in a much better position than they were for the past three or four months, and if revenue prospects are realised, the Government should be able to meet commitments for loans to local bodies without having recourse to the London market.
