PUBLIC WEIGH BRIDGE.
The Editor. Sir,— Amongst the many improvements going on in our town, may I suggest one, the addition a small but useful item, that would pay for itself, and be much appreciated by the business and farming community —I mean a public weigh bridge. The present state of matters, are that on heavy lines of produce, etc., there are no convenient way of checking the correctness or otherwise of the weight.—l am, etc., A SCOT.
The Editor. Sir, —Would you kindly correct a very grievous error your printer introduced into a report of a no-license meeting which appeared in last Saturdav's issue. Bv the omission of the word "not" the prohibitionists were said to be seeking, by the "Democratic Voters' Pledge movement" to "three-fifths" handicap upon "the trade. The report should have read: "The object is "not" to have the handicap placed upon the trade, but to have it removed from the present party which has carried it for nineteen years."—l am, etc., A. ARMSTRONG, President King Country No-License League.
