The final problem was whether Turkey should allow the Bulgarian trains to pass through Adrianople. After a long silence Naizm Pasha, Turkish Commander-in-Chief, said: "Let it be so, but wait ten days until the peace negotiations begin in London." Subsequently champagne was opened, and Nazim Pasha drank to the health of "The Valiant Bulgarian Army." The Bulgarian delegates replied by proposing the health of "The Valiant Ottoman Army."
