Messrs Eraser and MeLonnan asked for an inquiry into the real nature of the recent riols at Waihi,, and for an assurance of (.ho .safety of the men on strike if limy returned to Waihi. Mr Massey promised In recommend the Minister of Justice to appoint a Commission to inquire and ascertain the real truth of what happened at. Waihi. Ho gave his personal assurance that the strikers, including seventy whose names it was stated had been "listed" by workers could safely return to Waihi.
