Sir—The proceeds of the opening night of the Empress Theatre handed over to the Te Kuiti Municipal Band by the proprietors of the King Country Picture Co. amount to £ll 8a 3d. In acknowledging with tnanka receipt of cheque for the above amount, I would do so not only on behalf of the band, but also on behalf of the town, for the band ia a municipal enterprise, and its property beiong3 to the Borough.—l am, A.
