LAWN TENNIS.

OPENING OF NEW COURTS. On Saturday last the Te Kuiti Tennis Club opened their new courts, four in number. Though the weather was threatening, a large number of players and visitors attended. Mr T.. E. Foy, president, officially opened the courts. Afternoon tea was very kindly dispensed by the lady members of the club, and was thoroughly appreciated. The courts, though soft, played fairly well, and with more rolling, they should bear a good playing surface. All four courts were fully occupied throughout the afternoon, and some enjoyable games resulted. It has been decided to build a pavilion, which will be a great convenience to members.
