KIRITEHERE-MOEATOA.
Own Correspondent. At present settlers here are without direct telephone communication with Te Kuiti, except by telegraph via Kawhia. The Marokopa-le Kuiti line was erected as far as Moeatoa, ten miles up from Marokopa and there left, leaving a gap of nine or ten miles between Moeatoa and Mangaoha9 uncompleted thus barring speaking communication with business people in Te Kuiti. A Main Trunk telephone line between the coast, and Te Kuiti, tapping the extensive private system, would add materially to our business interests in Te Kuiti, and hasten the onward march of progress in the district. We solicit the aid of the townspeople of Te Kuiti in getting this line of telephone complete during the coming sumifler; and as for ourselveß we are doing our beat in the matter.
