TAUMARUNUI DEBATERS.
AN APPRECIATION. In connection with the recent debate between members of the Taumarunui and Te Kuiti Debating Societies, and the subsequent entertainment of the debaters by Mr E. H. Hardy, president of the Te Kuiti Society, the following letter has been received by Mr Hardy from the Taumarunui Society : "Dear Sir, —On behalf of the Taumarunui Debating Society I have to express grateful appreciation for the generous hospitality accorded their representatives on the occasion of their visit to Te Kuiti. My society feels, sir, that the good-fellowship proferred by you was not towards the individuals who had thd fortune to be present last evening; nor was it to my society alcne, but it was proferred to Taumarunui, and as such it is thankfully acknowledged. The movement towards community of interests so gracefully started by you we shall endeavour to accelerate, and we look forward to the time when you will be our guest so that we can more adequately express our feelings towards Te Kuiti. Again thanking you, sir, —I have the honour to be, your obedient servant, R. C. HOCKING, Hon. Sec., Taumarunui Debating Society.
