BOROUGH LOAN PROPOSALS.

As the outcome of the public meeting, held on Wednesday evening last in connection with the borough loan proopsals, a special meeting of the Borough Council was called for Saturday evening to reconsider the question. Before any business was done it was pointed out that both that and thlee previous special meeting which had been called were informal, in consequence of the necessary notice not having been given. The business was discussed informally, and it appeared to be the general idea that the most reasonable way to give effect to the wishes of the ratepayers was to have proposals for both a small loan and the present proposal for a £21,000 loan placed before the ratepayers, so that people could vote for which ever proposal appealed to them.
