THE MOKAU JONES CLAIM.

In the Legislative Council this afternoon, the Joint Committee of both branches of the Legislature appointed to inquire into the petition of Joshua Jones, one-time of Mokau, presented its report. The report is a very long document, and was read when presented in the Legislative Council by the Hon. Mr Rigg, by the clerk. The committee recommends that a sum of £3OOO (and that the Government take into its consideration the advisability of lodging any such sum with the Public Trustee in trust for use and benefit of the petitioner, his wife and family.
