Settlers on improved larm sections throughout the district will be glad to learn that the Government is prepared to supply cows to thos9 who have the applications approved by the Grown lands ranger. Applications should be made at the earliest possible date in order to get the benefit of the present milking season. However, there is ample time for the traffic 1o increase during the summer, and the new service is bound to he popular as the soason advances. The new train arrangements, which came into operation on November Ist, must mean a considerable addition to the business of the Te Kuiti station, which may row lie classed as the busiest on the Main Trunk line. Ail the trains on the run change engines and staffs at Te Kuiti, which has come to be designated the half-way house. After having spent live years with Messrs Green and Colebrook, Mr Cecil Boles has decided to start business on his own account.
