Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report We held out fortnightly sale in the Ohaupo yards on Bfch inst., when we had an average yarding, all of which changed hands at satisfactory prices. We quote'—2 year empty heifers £4 lis to £4 13s, yearling heifers £3 ss, yearling steers £3 7s 6d, empty Jersey heifers £5 to £5 10s, springing heifers £5 10s to £6 15s, milking cows £7 to £7 lus.

We held our horse fair in the Ngaruawahia yards on the 9th and 10th inst., when we had a good yarding, and have to report a good demand for all young and sound draughts. We quote Unbroken draughts £32 to £35, unbroken hacks £3 to £lB, 3 and 4 year draughts, broken to all work £3l to £4O, 5 to 7 year do. £25 to £35, aged do. £ll to £2B 10s, milk cart horses £l6 to £22 10s, good hacks £lO to £lB 10s, good harness horses £9 10s to £l6 ss, aged hacks and harness sorts £3 to £ll 10s, squibs 10s to 20s.

We held our monthly sale in the Ngaruawahia yards on 11th inst., when more than the advertised number came forward, every pen being utilised. We have to report an extra good demand, every pen being cleared under the hammer. Amongst the lines offered were 300 choice 2 and 3 year bullocks from Te Akau, for which competition was very keen. We quote—3 year bullocks £6 to £6 16s, 2| year bullocks £5 9s to £5 15s, 2 year bullocks £4 lis to £4 18s, 2 year empty heifers £4 5s to £4 12s, yearling heifers £8 6s to £4, yearling to 18 month steers £3 6s to £4, good calves £1 15s to £2 lis, fat cows £5 Is to £5 10s, bulls £4 to £4 10s, springing heifers close to profit £6 to £7 15s, backward heifers £4 Is to £4 15s.

The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: — At Matamata on 9th inst. we had a yarding of 845 cattle, 279 sheep and 51 pigs. There was a keen demand for all classes of cattle, practically the whole yarding selling under the hammer. Fat cows made £6 15s to £B, lighter sorts £5 10s to £6 12s 6d, fat steers, light £8 ss, 3 year steers £6 9s to £6 15s, store cows £3 15s to £4 4s, choice 2 year empty heifers £4 15s to £5 Is, smaller sort £3 14s to £4 6s, yearling steers £2 15s to £3 ss, yearling heifers £3 ss, 18 months steers £3 9s to £3 19s, springing heifers £8 10s to £l2, backward heifers £5 5s to £6 15s, springing cows £7 10s to £ll, 2 year old Holstein bulls, on account of R. Burke and E. C. Banks 10 to 21 guineas, yearling Holstein bulls to lOgns, Shorthorn bulls 9 to 12 guineas, weaner pigs lis to 17s, slips 30s to 375, fat ewes 18s, fat hoggtes 17s 6d, 131 ewes with 100 per cent, lambs 21s 3d. Newton King reports:—

At my Rahotu sale on Bth inst., I had a fair entry for which the demand was very good, every line without exception being cleared during the day as follows: —Best store cows from £3 17s to £4 13s, others £3 to £3 14s, light Ist cows £5 lis to £6 Is, yearling steers, good £3 3s, others £2 5s to £2 10s, yearling grade heifers £2 8s 6d to £2 18s, empty 2 year heifers £4 0s 6d to £4 2s 6d, small £3 10s to 31 4s, bad coloured 2 year steers £3 6s, bulls, 2 year Holstein £3 15s, grades £4 18s to £5 Bs, yearling Jersey, well marked £3 10s, spring, ing heifers, best £6 12s 6d to £8 ss, others, small £4 5s to £5 10s. In my Stratford dairy pens on the same day there" was a heavy entry of both cows and heifers, biding was very spirited throughout an excellent sale resulting at the following prices: Choice springing heifers £9 10s to £ll ss, good £6 15s to £8 15s, small or late £4 5s to £5 ss, guaranteed cows, best £8 to £ll 10s, others £5 15s to £8 15s.
