His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint H. W. Nortbcroft, Esq., to be a district inspector under the Mental Defectives Act, within the County of West Taupo. Mr F. B. Darrow, of Te Kuiti, who left on Tuesday for a trip to the Islands, was presented on Saturday by the employees of Green and Colebrook, Ltd., with a handsome travelling rug. Mr Darrow is on a holiday tour and expects to be away for several weeks.
