Newton King reports:— On sth inst. I conducted in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., Hawera, Mr R. H. Phillip's auxiliary dispersal sale and had an excellent attendance. Bidding throughout was very good, especially for the best quality cows. Heifers showing well forward were in excellent, demand realising as follows: ■—Be3t heifers from £lO to £l4 15s, good from £6 15s to £9 15s, backward £5 10s to £5 15s, heifers and calf £4 15s to £6 10s, dairy cows, choicest £l6 to £2O ss, first grade £ll 10d to £l4 10s, good £9 to £lO 10s, late calvers and aged £5 10 to £7.

At my Kaponga yards on the 6th, owing to the wretched weather we had only a small entry. Best quality dairy heifers from £S to £l3 10s, others £5 10s to £6 ss, in calf cows £6 15s to £7 ss, store cows £2 ISs to £3 small yearlings £1 16s, 18 months steers £3 Ss, forward ewes 12s lOd. The pe.ligree liolstein sale on the same day at my Waiwakaiho yards attracted buyers and fanciers of the breed from all parts of New Zealand. The sale proved a New Zealand record for pedigree stock, the whole catalogue being disposed of at prices already pubilshed. At the Haymarket, New Plymouth, on 7tn inst., my pig pens were filled with all classes. Slips and weaner from lis 6d to 19s, small stores 23s Gd to 265, porkers 41s to 455, sows £2 10s co £2 16s, pony £5 10s, unbroken geldings £l4 to £ls, aged cart horse £S, smart gig or hack mare £l2 10s, pony and harness £52 10a.

At my Rahotu yards on 10th inst., notwithstanding the very wet day I had a fair entry and a good attendance of the public and practically everything was sold. Mixed yearlings from 36s to 44s 6d, yearling steers from £2 5s to £2 ISs, for best 2 year empty heifers £3 15s to £4, store cows £3 to £3 Ss 6d, forward cows £4 5s to £4 lis, fat cows £6, yearling bulls £3 3s, grade Holstein 4 year bull £5 Is, springing heifers £7 10s, dairy cows, best from £9 to £l2 15s, springing good from £7 10s to £8 15s, poor £5 ss, small pigs 12 6d to 16s.
