AUCKLAND MARKETS. Mesarß Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly fat stock sale at Westfield, on Wednesday, September 4th, as under: — Beef: A small yarding and a weak demand, at last week's rates. Extra prime ox fetched equal to 32s per 100b, prime ox 28a to 30s, inferior 265, cow and heifer beef fetched equal to 26s to 28s per IOOb. Veal: A small yarding which scwri at high rates. Heavy runners fetched £3 15s to £4 18s. choice suckers 35s to 535, others 2s to 255. • Mutton: A large yarding. Prices obtained were on a par with last week's rates, with the exception of ewes, which were slightly easier. Extra heavy prime wethers fetched 24s 3d to 28s 3d, good wethers 21<* to 235, inferior to 20s, heavy ewes 18s to 20s 6d, light ewes and inferior lis 9d to 14b. Lamb: Hoggets fetched 12s to 15s 9d. Spring lambs, of moderate quality, sold at ISs to 24s 6d. Pork: An average yarding. Late high fates were again obtained. Good heavy porkers made £2 ssto £2 18s, light porkers 25s to 355.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Reduced, report: —At Westfield yards on Wednesday fat cattle were yarded in less numbers than usual, and competition was not as keen, although quotations are the same. Best oxen sold to 30s per 1001b, others 26s to 28s, steers sold at from £9 to £.14 7s 6d, cows and heifers £5 to £8 10s. A draft of 16 small but well fatted steers, from Mr B. Reid, of Waerenga, averaged £l3 12s 6d. Veal calves came forward in usual numbers, and sold at late rates. No heavy weight stock was yarded. Medium weight £1 15s to £3 10s, others 20s to 31s, smaller and dropped 3s to 15s. Sheep were yarded in full numbers, and sold at last week's rates. Best wethers sold at from 23s to 26s 9d, others 19s to 225, inferior fatted lGs 6d to ISs 6d. heavy ewes 18s to 21s 3d, others 14s 9d to 17s 6d. Hoggots were penned in the usual supply, and sold at late rates, 10s 9d to 14s Gd. Pig 3 were yarded in good supply, and declined a shade in price. Baconers sold to £3 17s, large porkers £2 2a to £2 10s, porkers 30s to 40s, slips 22s to 275, weaners 12s 6d to 15s.
