TE KUITI DEBATING SOCIETY.

Notwithstanding the weather a large numder of visitors attended the weekly session of the local Parliamentary Union, a noticeable feature being the number of young men present. The Labour Bill was further discussed and was carried on the voices.

The Minister for Lands was entrusted with the introduction of the Preferential Voting Bill, and its first reading was carried, and the House went into Committee to consider the Bill clause by clause. The progress was reported at 10 p.m. and the House adjourned til! 7.30 next Thursday evening. Cunsiderable interest is being taken in this measure, and the public should roll up for next session in good numbers. Mr Arthur Coombs addressd the House on various matters.
