HAY WARD'S PICTURES

'■• 4 --enterprise of the Hay ward's pictures is being recognised by the picture-loving public, and there are big attendances at the popular entertainments. To-night the management have secured another special series comprising the newest and most up-to-date films procurable. The feature of the programme will be the fine French drama entitled "CamiUe," with Madame Sarah Bernhardt in th°. leading role. The photo-play is interesting from first to last, and is sure to appeal to the majority of picture patrons. Supporting this star attraction are a splendid series of dramatic, comedy scenic and topical films, which make one of the most attractive entertainments yet presented to the Te Kuiti DUblic. Seats may be reserved at the"Town Hall. CURLE'S PICTURES. A feature of the all-star programme to be shown at the Alexandra Rink on Wednesday evening will be the great novelty film "Frank Coffyn in His Flight Over New York. "He takes us far above terra firma and lets us look down upon the many places of interest about New York. It is an easy matter to imagine yourself a passenger with Mr Coffyn. Another educational film of interest is "Preparing Tea," showing the different processes through which it passes before reaching the tea pot. The dramas are a particularly good lot. "The Corsican /Brother" (by Alex. Dumas) and "Counsel for the Defence" show the great favourite, Maurice Costello, at his very best. As John Bunny takes the principal role in the comedies their success is assured. Pathe's Gazette will as usual be found full of interest and information.

Good music was supplied by Gitto's orchestra, and the floor was in very fair condition. A delightful supper, supplied by the ladies, was thoroughly appreciated. Messrs E. A. Power and S. Dransfield officiated as M.C's. The hall was tastefully decorated with Chinese lanterns and bunting (in the club's colours). We understand that the funds of the club will be considerably augmented by the proceeds of the dance. The thanks of the club are due to the small and of willing workers who made all arrangements, and did all the work in connection with the ball. There is no doubt that this year's ball was, in spite of adverse circumstances, well up to the standard set by previous functions given under the auspices of the Bowling and Croquet Club and future functions given by the club will
