TE KUITI DEBATING SOCIETY.
The Parliamentary Union under the * auspices of the Te Kuiti Debating Society held its usual siting on Thursday evening, when the Labour Ministry under the leadership of Mr C. F. Turner took office. There was a large attendance of members, and the gallery was crowded. The Governor s speech was duly read and the Address-in-Reply was moved and seconded by Messrs Thorpe and Young. Tha usual debate was commenced by the leader of the Opposition, Mr H. A. Ellison who congratulated the new Prime Minister on his accession to office, but predicted a short reign, unless more solid matter than was contained W in the Governor's speech was pronoW?ded. The Speaker brought the debase to an early close, and the Labour Bill was introduced and read a first time. In view of the desire of ja number of members to attend the Hospital Ball the debate on the Bill was adjourned till next Thursday A fter the adjournment the .rime Minister attended the Hospital Ba -and delivered an address to those present.
