MORRISON'S APPOINTMENT.
GERMANY AND JAPAN OPPOSE. By Telegraph-—Press Association. —Copyriglit London, Wednesdy. The Daily Telegraph's Pekin correspondent states that officials have sent a deputation to Yuan-shih-kai to protest against Dr Morrison's appointment as Official Adviser. It was explained that only departmental experts were required, and that the country would not tolerate an alien being entrusted with the secrets of general political affairs. Yuan-hsih-kai reserved his reply. It is expected that a compromise will be arranged. The Telegraph's Tientsin correspondent states that Germany and Japan are strongly opposing Dr Morrison's appointment.
