Mr J. R. Graham reports as under: Owing to continued bad weather attendances at sale 3 have been comparatively small. Fowls, good table 2s, young laying birds 2s 9d, ducks 2s 6d, pigs, weaners 10s to 12s 6d, scarce, and if demand continues higher prices will be reached. Potatoes, seed now being inquired for, southern Up to Dates ton. lots £7 10s, early sorts average £9 chaff: in good demand £5 10s sacks in; pumpkins, marrows, 6s 6d cwt; fruit practically over, few large cases apples 9s; vegetables scarce; horses, good stamp pack horses to £5, light harness £lO, active draughts up to £2B; dairy cattle in full profit to and to calve early up to £lO. for good quiet milkers. Land is being enquired for, weather has again blocked business in this direction, though a few transactions in country and town lands and business have been recorded.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercan> tile Agency Co., Ltd. report:— At Te Awamutu on 10th inst , more than the advertised number of cattle came forward -which brought every pen into requisition. Buyers were present from all the surrounding district and King Country, and a keen demand existed for everything resulting in a splendid Prices: —■ Small fat steers £9 15s, cows £6 15s to £B, yearling heifer 3 £2 19s to £3 15s, for a choice pen of 20 months heifers £4 2s to £4 10s, 18 months to 2 year steers £3 16s to £4 lis, yearling steers £3 Is to £3 8s mixed calves to yearlings £2 5s to £2 19s, empty cows £3 10s to £4 Bs, springing Jdrsey heifers £8 to £9, Shorthorn heifers, choice and close to protfi £8 10s to £lO 15s, others £6 to £7 10s, backward heifers £4 12s 6d to £5 7s 6d, dairy cows £6 to £lO 15s, fat wethers 20s, store pigs 22s to 335, breeding sows £3 15s to £3 17s, slips IGs to 20s.
