TE KUITI BOWLING CLUB.
I The annual meeting 01 tfie above I club was.hsld in the County office on Thursday evening when a very fair number of members were present. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. President's Report.—l have much pleasure in submitting the yearly report and balance-sheet for the year ending August, ]9J2. Owing to the very wet summer we ban thera was not the usual amount of play-indulged in, but the green was in first-class order. The ciub sent teams to Hamilton to play in the South Auckland tournament and an executive team to Auckland, Messrs Power and Dransfield, took part in the pairs match
and although none of them v^ere
successful in winning they gave a good account of themselves and had good games. lam sorry to say that owing to the wet weather the club competitions were not completed, in this case all monies paid for entrance fees will be returned. I would suggest that this year, the competitions should be started as eoon as possible and a fixed date made and kept, for each round to finish. In regard to the croquet, the same applies as to the bowling in reagrd tu weather condi-
tions. The courts were in first-class order and tha ladies had a good season. I should like to thank the ladies on behalf of the Bowling Club, for their kindness in looking after the
tea arrangements and a special vote of thanks is due to. Mrs Power for all the work done by bar. I would suggest that the secretary be instructed
:o write to Mrs Power expressing
the cluh's gratitude. With regard to the finances of the Club, I am sorry
to say they are not in a much better state than last year, mainly owing to the' loss of jv number of members, but I think that by going slow and by-a united effort on the part of the members to obtain new members, we should be able to end the coming season in a better position than we are in at present. The thnnks of the club are due to the following gentlemen: Messr3 Stevens, Mclndoe, Moorhouse, Cochrane and Edgecumbe for trophies and donations to the club.
