The Australian oarsman, Pearce, is anxious to secure a match with Barry for the world's championship. Pearce's backers have already raised £350 and the fund is expected to reach £SOO by next Saturday. It is proposed to at once cable £IOO to bind a match with Barry. Tommy Burns, the world's ex-cham-pion boxer, who has been out of the ring since his defeat by Johnson, made his reappearance in a contest for the Canadian championship last week and scored an easy victory. It is stated Bums will again meet Johnson in Australia.
