THE NEED FOR ROADS.

The Hon. W. Fraser. Minister for Public Works, accompanied by Mr C. K. Wilson, M.P., arrived at Te Kuiti on Wednesday morning. The Minister was taken for a drive out the Awakino roau, returning to Te Kuiti before lunch.

In the afternoon the Ministerial party was driven to the local butter factory. Mr J. Boddie (chairman), and Major Lusk and Mr E. H. Hardy, directors, accompanied the party. Mr Fraser expressed himself highly pleased with the factory and the manner in which it was kept, and wished the settlers every success in their undertaking. He was pleased to see that it wan on co-operative lines, and that the farmers were getting the whole benefit from the industry. Upon returning the party visited the County office and the Minister conferred with Mr Scholes (County chairman) concerning County matters generally.
