The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ld., report:— At Ohaupo on 16th inst., fat cows made £6 7s 6d to £6 12s 6d, empty cows in fresh condition £4 to £4 6s, 20 months empty dairy heifers £3 13s to £3 18s, dairy cows £5 103 to £7 10s.
At Ngaruawahia on the same day we submitted 200 3 year springing heifers on account of Mr F. Alford. As buyers present only required those close to profit only 39 were sold at from £8 to £lO, others to calve later £6 7s 6d to £7 ss.
We held a sale ot dairy stock in the Hamilton yards on Wednesday, 17th inst. On account of wet weather the full entry did not come forward; but there was a good atendance of buyers and spirited bidding throughout, late ruling prices being fully maintained. -Good young sound dairy cows made £7 to £8 15s, cows more aged £3 2s 6d to £4 10s, one Jersey cow £ls 10s, springing heifers £6 5s to £7 2s 6d, springing heifers more backward £5 5s to £5 15s. At Hamilton on Thursday there was a small entry. Prices—Full-mouth ewes in lamb 17s 3d, small hoggets 9s 2d, store pigs 18s 6d to £1 4s, fat cows £6 12s to £7, dairy cows £5 17s 6d to £7 17s 6d, heifers in calf £4 9s to £4 14s.
Newton King's weekly report:— At Eltham on 15tth inst., notwithstanding the wretched weather, I had a very good attendance of buyers at Mrs M. Forbes' clearing sale. The cuws, which were of mixed ages, realised, for best from £lO 5s to £ls 10s, good £7 10a to £9 15s, second grade £5 5s to £6 15a. At my Rahotu yards on 16th inst., I had a fair entry with a fair demand for all classes throughout. Prices — Mixed weaners 15s to 235, yearling steers 31s to 535, yearling heifers £2 18s to £3 9s, yearling bulls £2 Is 6d, bulla £4 to £5, aged cows 30s, store cows £3 to £4 ss, fat cows, small £5 Bs, empty 20 months heifer 3 £3 lis 6d, guaranteed dairy cows, best from £7 to £9, others £4 to £4 10s, in-calf heifers £5 to £5 10s, line of dairy cows £9 10s, geldings £ls to £l7.
At Mr- Crisp's clearing sale on Tuesday, 16th inst., at Pungarehu, store cows realised from 22s 6d to £3 12s 6d, in-calf heifers 2 year old £4 13s, yearling heifers £3 3s, mixed yearlings 41s to 51s, calvers £lO, dray £l4, mare £24. gelding £ll, sundries at satisfactory rates. On Wednesday, 17th inst., I held in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan Co.. Hawera, a clearing sale on account of Mr G. N. Bell, Matapu. There was a very good attendance and a good demand throughout for the cows, which'sold qs follows:—Choice cows from £}3 JOs to £l7, first class cows £0 tp £l2 ss, Qthera 4=5 to £7 bulls £2 15s to £5.
