APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK. [BY TEI.EGRAPH. —I'RJiSS ASSOCIATION*.] Wellington, Monday. The appointment of a auccassor to the Hon. Wm. Hall-Jones as High Commissioner has not yet been determined, but Cabinet will settle the important matter at the end of next week. The Prime Minister (Hon. W. P. Massey) stated on Saturday night that he thought the. announcement of the new High Commissioner's name should be first made to Parliament. He was not willing to give any advance hints, but appearances pointed strongly to the selection of the Hon. Thos. Mackenzie.
