The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd. report: — On July 17th W9 held our Matamata stock sale, 'and notwithstanding the Wretched day there was a fair entry. Prices for all stock. were good, fat cattle and sheep especially selling well. Heavy fat wethers made 235, light weight fat wethers 18s. fat ewes 15s to 17s 9d. two tooth ewes in lamb 15s, aged ewes 9s 6d to lis 9d, fat cows £5 10s to £7 Is, small fat steers £8 ss, store three year steers £5 8s to £5 17s, store cows £3 15s to £4 ss, fresh cows £4 103 to £5 ss, eighteen months empty heifers up to £4 Bs, calves, good sorts £2 15s to £3 ss, small sorts 35a to 425, best dairy heifers up to £8 2s 6d, backward £6 to £6 10s, dairy cows £7 to £B. On July 16th we held our annual cow sale at Waihou. The entry was not large, but for all good quality cows and heifers perceptibly in calf ther was a good demand, cows making up to £lO, heifers to £8 ss, backward sorts £5 5s to £6.

Butter.—The market is steady, with* good demand for best quailty. Choicest New Zealand 115s, Australian 106s, Siberian 104s, Danish 1225. Cheese. —The market is dull. The New Zealand white 65s 6d to 66s 6d. Hemp.—The market is firm wtih more inquiry at an advance. Spot New Zealand good fair £24 15s, fair £23 15s, fair current Manila £24, forward shipment about the same price. The output for Manila for the week was 24,000 bales. Kauri Gum.—The market~is steady, with moderate demand. Dark brown selected re-scraped 120s to 160s, dark brown three-quarter scraped 80s to 90s, dark brown chips, drossy 30s to 40s, re-scraped pale amber £lO to £l2, three-quarter pale scraped £7 to £B, diggers' chips, good 45s to 50s. Of 269 cases offered 213 were sold. Stock 383 tons. Wool. —The market remains firm.
