Newton King reports At my fortnightly sale in the Stratford yards on 9th inst., I had a fair entiy in my store cattle yards with a good and representative attendance. Bidding throughout was good for most lines, very few catt'u going home. Yearling heifers form £2 15s to £3 2s for best, others 34s to 455, yearling steers 34s 6d to 49s fid, mixed yearlings 28s to 41s, empty 20 months heifers, in demand £3 10s to £3 13s, 2i year steers £4 12s 6d, bulls £2 lis to £3 18s Gd, guaranteed dairy cows £5 17s 6d to £B, store cows £2 16s to £3 6s 6d, fat cows £5 Is. I had a very heavy yarding of dairy cows and heifer in the Stratford dairy yard*, and notwithstanding the wretched weather, a very good attendance of buyers. Bidding was very good for best quality cattle but a good number of second grade and late cows were offered. On account of Mr C. Keightley best cows £9 5s to £l4 ss, othe.s £7 to £9, aged £5 10s, on account of Mr A. E. Stockley from £6 15s to £9 ss, others £5 10s to £6, poor and aged £3 5s •to £3 17s 6d, on account of Mr T. Bullock £6 10s to £9 ss, others £4 15s to £5 15s, aged and empty £3 2s 6d to £4 ss, on account of Mr C. S. Gatton, in calf 2 year Jersey heifers £5 5s to £7 10s, small £3 16s 6d to £4 ss, bulls £4 15a, choice Jersey nine months nai- | ferg £3 13s 6d, on account of Mr J. W. Harding choice Jersey-Holstein rising 3 year heifers realised from £7 15s to £ll, grade £6 to £7 ss, small £5 10s to £5 17s 6d, on account of other vendors heifers from £6 5s to £7 15d, cows £5 7s 6d to £9 ss. In my Stony River yards on Wednesday 9th inst. I had a full yarding of all classes and a good attendance of buyers. Bidding was best for dairy cattle and heifers but practically everything was cleared during the day at the following rates:— Yearling heifers from 35s 10 £2 17s 6d, yearling steers 42s to 455, poor 18s 6d, mixed yearlings 42s to 455, empty heifers small £2 16s, bulls £2 10s to £6, store cows £3 2s 6d to £3 12s 6d. aged cows 22s 6d to 38s, forward cows £4 to £4 Bs, dairy heifers beat £5 5s to £7 10s, small £4 0s 6d to £4 18s, dairy cows choice £7 15s to £lO, ! others £4 2s 6d to £4 15s.
