The fifth test match between the Australians and South Africans opened at Lord's to-day. South Africa batted first and scored 263. The Australians had lost two wickets for 86 when stumps were drawn. Scores:--
South Africa, first innings.— Faulkner 5, Tancred 31, White 0, Llewellyn 8, Nourse 11, Taylor 93, Strieker 48, Mitchell 12, Schwarz 0, Pegler 25, Ward not out 1, sundries 29—total 263.
Bowling analysis: Minnutt two for 49, Whitty four for 68, Hazlitt two for 47, Matthews one for 32, Kelleway one for 38.
Australia, first innings.—Jennings 0, Kelleway not out 32, Macartney 9, Bardsley not out 33, extras 12—total for two wickets 86.

AFRICANS 8 FOR 146.
London, Tuesday. The Australians scored 390 in the first innings. South Africa has lost eight wickets for 146 in the second innings.
