The fourth test match, between England and Africa, was concluded to-day, and, as wns anticipated, resulted in an easy win for England by 174 runs. The weather was dull and the attendance small when the Africans, want- j ing 229 runs to win, with only thre«uQ wickets to fall, resumed their second innings, Tancred and Pegler, the not outs.facing the bowling of Barnes and Foster. The fifth ball of the first over sent down by Barnes waR fatal to Tancred, who was clean bowled. Eight for 110. Pegler and Carter made a plucky stand, and at 148 Hoarne went on instead of Foster. With the total at 159 the new bowler clean bowled Pegler in his Becond over, after tbs South African had batted 55 minutes for 32 runs. Nine for 159. Ward was last man in, but without any addition to the score Barnes bowled Carter, who had batted vigorously, hitting five fourers. He was badly missed at 19 The Africans' bowling was much better than at Manchpster or Lord's, but their batting was weak. Following are the scores:--England.—First innings 242, second , innings 238—grand total 480. South Africa. —First innings 147, second innings 159—grand total 306. AUSTRALIA v. SCOTLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—OopyriuUt London, Friday. In the return match between Scotland and Australia, the home team in the first innings made 289. The Australians' first innings produced 152—Mayne 47, Macartney 17, Kelleway 34, and Webster not out 20, —being top scorers. Rain prevented further play.
