PIO PIO.
Own Correspondent,
A basket social held here on 28th was a huge euccesß, considering the state of our roads. Mr Power s wielded the hammer in a brisk and breezy manner, and the baskets were soon disposed of at good all-round prices. Mr Slines had charge of the dancing, and a very enjoyable time was spent, the more enthusiastic ones dancing till daylight.
Football appears to have started in earnest. I believe our local team play their first match to-day (Saturday). It is to be hope the conditions are favourable, as our local sports deserve a little encouragement and reward for bringing football to a successful issue here. v
