TE KUITI SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The usual monthly meeting of the Te Kuiti School Committee was held on Thursday. Mr Walsh presided and there were present the Rev. E. S Wayne, Messrs Floyd (secretary). Bailey, Jane, Robinson and Steel. Library Books.—The Board of Education instimated approval of the list of books and the library committee was authorised to deal with the matter. Arbor Day.—lt was deeded to grant a holiiday on Arbor Day, July 17th, and the matter of carrying out tree planting was left to the visiting committee and headmaster. , Education District.—The secretary of the Board of Education wrote intimating that North, East, West wards had been established and* giving the boundaries. The letter w as received and the following resolution was passed unanimously:—That in the opinion of this committee it is desirable that in the interests of the education district the district should ,be sub-divided into a larger number of wards in order to give more direct representation on the board to the different scetions of such a large district. The secretary was instructed to convey the resolution to the board. Resignation.—Dr Paxton tendered his resignation from the committee in consequence of his departure from the district.—The resignation was accepted with regret, various memjbers speaking in high terms of Dr Paxton's work on the committee.
Reports. —The reports of the head master and of the visiting commit tee were received.
Visiting Committee. Messrs Bailey and Steel were appointed a visiting committee for the ensuing month.
