I have a song to sing 0 ! Sing me sung 0! It tells of a citizen moping-mum, Whose throat was sore and whose head was numb, Who sipped a sup from a common cup Of a medicine pure (Woods' Great Peppermint Cure) ; And who felt quite well, I am glad to tell, And who went to his toil in the mornIn the opinion of soma New Zealanders who have been visiting Australia, the rabbit was accountable for more losses of stock than the drought that has just broken up. In one district in New South Wales a settler had wire netted a large area, all rab bit burrows being dug out and any cover destroyed. While other settlers' sto:k were dyin; for want of food, this progressive and practical settler had abundance of grass, the feed being two feet high in some padd -cks. He lost no stock, but was making good money by grazing the stock of neighbouring settlers at as high a rate as Is 4d per week per head. A novel case came before Mr V. G. Day, S.M., at Timaru on Saturday, a Fairlie farmer being charged by an officer of the Society for th° Prevention of Cruelty to Animals with having cruelly treated a dog by inserting a hook or ring of wire in its ncss The defendant explained tnat the dog was a valuable animal, but that it had a bad habit of biting sheep. The wire was intended, and served, to prevent him from doing so. He said the practice was often followed in New Zealand. Three ether farmers corroborated this statement. The magis trate reserved his decision, in order to consult the authorities on the subject. WHEN your little child is hot, restless, and feverish with a fresh cold don't wait, but give immediately "NAZOL" on Sugar, and sprinkle freely a handkerchief with "NAZOL" and pin to the dress so that the child can inhale it constantly. Mothers have found it most successful. 7
