KING COUNTRY ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.

The annual general meeting of the King Country Acclimatiation Society was held at Mr Mussen's office, Te Kuiti, last night. There was a fair attendance and Mr F. P. Moorhous?, president, occupied the chair. A satisfactory balance-sheet was presented slnd the president reviewed the work of the past year. He also referred to the attempt to form a separate society by a portion of the residents of Waikato, and said he was sure he voiced the general feeling in expressing gratification over the signal defeat sustained by the promoters of the proposal. A unanimous vote of thanka was passed to thjose settlers who during several years had rendered valuable service to the district in distributing trout fry. In view.of the exceptional difficulties surmounted in packing fish to great distances for stocking the various streams it was decided that Messrs J. McLuckie, R. T. Bailpy, D. Anderson and A. Troup bs electe.l lifts members of the society. A tribute was also paid to Messrs R. and P. Cotter in respect to their assiatance towards hatching sittings of pheasants' eggs. The following officers were elected: President, Mr F. P. Moorhouse;

lojal vice-presidents, Messrs Cochrane, Rothery and Mora; delegates to Auckland, Messrs Moorhouse and Cochrane; auditor, Mr A. V.Snadden; secretary, Mr 11. Mussen. District vice-presi-dents: Puketutu, Dr Sloman; Mangaotaki, D. Anderson; Pio Pio, G. Elliott; Mairoa, J. Francis; Paeinako, R. Boddy; Waitomo, W.Petcit; Poro-o-larao, C. Harrison; Arapae, J. Thornasen; Honikiwi, P. D. Hargreaves; Kaeaea, T. S. Hickman: Rangitoto. Westrnacott; Kawa, Lethbridge; Puketiti, R. T Bailey; Ngapaenga, J. Sellars. Council, Messrs A' F. Howarth, N. C. Matthew, N. B. Busk, A. E. Robinson, Dransfield, J. Lawson, A. Shannon, G. Berry, J. A. Mathew and A. C. Johnson.

It was unanimously decided to vote £5 to the secretary for his valuable services.
