TRANSPORT WORKERS' STRIKE.

PREPARED TO RESUME. ]iy Te'.ccrni'h. Association.- Oop.vrielit London, Monday. The London Dock Strikers' Committee visited Parliament to-day for the purpose of interviewing Ministers. The committee states that it is prepared to adopt any settlement of the dispute based on the payment of average wages. The distress among the. dockers is acute. Several pawnshop?, have closed owioti to the plethora of pledges having been received. The Scottish Tranpsorters' Union decided by an overwhelming majority against a strike to assist the London dockers, who called upon them to come out. The Swansea dockers have decided to return to work. Mr Gosling (secretary of the Transport Workers' Federation), in a speech at Trafalgar Squrre declared that the men could never go hack to work under the old conditions. The national strike, Mr Goslinn admitted. had proved a bad card to plav. It was no use pretending that they were not hard up. Mr Keir Hardie, in speaking at Forest of Dean, said that the worker? in a particular industry, when desiring co-operation of the rest of the workers, must consult all before venturing to precipitate a crisis. He was convinced that legislative action would produce moro permanent results than they could hope to win by strikes. The results gained in good times were liable to be lost, in bad times.
